Stages of the Web

Every single day the internet is evolving and reaching out new areas. 4G was released in 2009 and just under 10 years it was updated to 5G. In my class we had a recent discussion about Apple's marketing plan. This blog has been broken down to 3 different categories Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.

WEB 1.0 this early stage which started in the early 1990s and went on for about 10 years. This stage was mainly used for read only web. This allowed minimal user interaction allowing users to read documents such as historical newspapers and Microfilms. These web page was accessible by millions of users.

WEB 2.0 this was the next stage which started after shortly after web 1 turned off. In early 2000s which also lasted for another 10 years. This stage allowed user to read and write on the website. This was huge and drew even more people in almost 10 times more. This brought Billions of users to internet site. Sites like AOL instant messaging, Blogs like this one, and wikipedia pages just to name a few.

WEB 3.0 stage three is the stage that we are in its called the READ - WRITE - EXECUTE stage. The type of web server its called is semantic web. This stage has trillions of users and views. Some of these sites you might have heard of semantic searching like google, knowledge bases and ontolgies and has so many  are web based applications and functions that can be updated on the daily or when needed.
